The Country Brocante is run by founder Lucy Haywood and her wonderful team in West Sussex. Lucy has grown the shows from small monthly village hall markets into large highly attended and regarded interior shows held at prestigious venues and country estates.

We have long been fascinated with Victorian cloches. There’s something quite special about these beautiful miniature glasshouses and their impactful design, combining both period charm and practicality. The ability to extend the growing season also creates many more gardening opportunities.

Handcrafted bespoke upholstery is a business based in Bruton covering the south west of the UK. Petra has worked with Cabbages & Roses for many years and we love the projects she has created for us.
MERCHANT & MILLS
Beauty in Purpose
The former toy factory on Tower Street is a key part of our history, at one time housing our whole operation: warehouse, studio and shop. Today, the shop is a treasure trove of beautiful cloth, inspiring even non-sewers to pick up a pattern and have a go. Our sewing studio upstairs is where we host classes and creative retreats. We have hundreds of pattern samples made up for our customers to try on and our team is always on hand to offer sewing and styling advice (or just to have a friendly natter!).
We create timeless and beautiful sewing patterns, fabrics, notions and ideas for a better world and a better wardrobe. Through making with our hands, we build value and a relationship with the tools and materials that creates a respect for the materials and history of the craft. Sewing has the ability to create community and improve well-being. We want to inspire others to choose a slower and more considered approach to dressing yourself and your home.
