Fabric Spotlight - Bees

The May Fabric story focuses on our Bees design, printed onto ivory linen and printed on our recently launched British manufactured Wallpapers.
A vintage-inspired floral print with a soft, romantic charm of voluptuous rose and leaf florals blend beautifully with the celebratory bunting-style arrangement, creating a design that feels both timeless and uplifting.
Evoking the nostalgia of an English country garden, this elegant print brings warmth and character to interiors and is perfectly suited to tablecloths, curtains and light upholstery.

'It is August in the year 2000. Two friends met in an Oxfordshire garden with two pink books and two pink pens.
Plans were afoot to create a company that would change our lives and to a very small extent, change the world of interiors and fashion. When I say change, really I mean revert. Back to wholesome, back to homespun, back to basics, as our then recently departed Prime Minister John Major encouraged us to do.
As we exchanged ideas in the dwindling sunshine, Brigette Buchanan – one half of the design duo – noticed a faint buzzing which grew louder and louder until an enormous swarm of bees’ appeared from nowhere.
Efficiently, she immediately had to hand the telephone number of the local bee keeper. Swiftly he arrived, wearing the pinkest bee suit that can ever have been made. He told us that this was the ‘biggest swarm of bees’ he had ever encountered in his long life of bee keeping.
This, dear reader, is why our very first fabric is called Bees.

Sean A. Pritchard
A book of exquisite florals by inspirational designer Sean A. Pritchard exploring how to grow flowers for colour and bring them indoors for visual impact and atmosphere.
Unlike the colours in our interiors, colour in the garden is fleeting and fickle. With that comes an exciting opportunity to experiment and bring those colours indoors for constantly changing displays.
Colours are considered in three mood-based chapters in this book: Romantic, Energetic and Reflective, with plant lists and planting plans.
A range of inspirational gardens and interiors include the iconic Charleston Farmhouse and Kettle's Yard, plus the homes of Richard E Grant, Sam McKnight, Marin Montagut, Butter Wakefield, Isabel and Julian Bannerman and Anthony Watson of Atelier Vime.
